Step Out for HemiHelp!

A family on a sponsored walk for HemihelpHemiHelp would like you to Step Out and raise money! Can you help us by organising a sponsored walk for HemiHelp?

There are over 140,000 miles of footpaths throughout the UK so let’s make use of them and raise money for HemiHelp at the same time.

Organising a walk is easy! All you need to do is find a suitable location for your walk such as a park, forest, along a river or around the city and decide on the length of your walk. If you let us know we will send you one of our Step Out Packs with everything you need from a press release to send to your local newspaper and radio station, sponsorship forms for you and your walkers and even a copy of The Countryside Code!

Why not make your sponsored walk even more exciting by giving it a theme? You could even ask your participants to dress up! A few ideas include:

  • A three-legged sponsored walk
  • ‘One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind’ space theme
  • Tortoise and the Hare

We hope you all have lots of fun Stepping Out, but don’t forget why you are organising it! HemiHelp is a unique charity, as it is entirely devoted to helping people affected by Hemiplegia. To remind everyone why you are taking part in the sponsored walk, why not accessorise with some HemiHelp T-shirts, available via our online shop.

The average person's stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles. Make your steps count and organise a sponsored walk for HemiHelp today.

For your Step Out Pack, please e-mail fundraising@hemihelp.org.uk or telephone 0845 120 3713.
