Previous workshops
Drama workshop, Saturday 21 November 2009, London
This free one day drama workshop for 11 to 18 year olds took place at the Unicorn Theatre in Southwark. The day strated with an interactive performance by the Graeae theatre company. 'Just me, Bell', a short play challenging preconceptions of disability and encouraging debate. The play addressed topics on identity and rights. The afternoon workshop was based on activities formed out of the morning’s performance. The day enabled participants to use critical thinking, creative problem solving and explore solutions to problems and of course have fun!
There was also an informal parent discussion in the afternoon which gave parents an opportunity to raise issues relevant to them and to share information.
Northwich, Cheshire, October 2009
One day drama workshop, for young people, aged 11 - 18 years. Led by experienced dramatists the group spent the first part of the day playing warm up games. After lunch the group split into three and branched off to spend a session with each dramatist. The groups tried their hand at acting out a scene using their powers of persuasion, making up a rap song and using mime and expression to act out a famous event for the rest of the group. Photos to follow.
Exeter, April 2009
As part of our aim to reach children and young people aged 11 - 18 years, the day was led by experienced drama tutor Ronni Spurr (Get REAL) and her team, who ran sessions last year at the parents' conference in Taunton and the Fun Day at Englefield. The workshops were fun and interactive, drawing upon the individuals' creativity and imagination. Working in groups and using individual reflection, the day was a great opportunity to try out some drama, and use props, costumes, sound effects and lighting at the fantastic Roborough Studios within the University of Exeter's campus.
