HemiHelp loan schemes

One-handed recorder loan schemeGirl plays a one handed recorder

The recorders we have to hire are handmade instruments, crafted by Dolmetsch (www.dolmetsch.com/goldseriesrecorders.htm), and have been funded by the Radcliffe Trust.

You can hire a recorder for six months for £15. We ask you to pay a deposit of £15 on top of the hire fee. After this time, if you wish to hire the recorder for a further six months you can for another £15. The maximum length of time you can hire out the instrument is 12 months.

After six or 12 months, when you return the recorder, we will return your deposit, providing the recorder is not damaged or broken.

Please contact amy@hemihelp.org.uk to request a form and letter. Once the declaration form is received along with the deposit we will send you your instrument, a case to protect it and a fingering chart. A good recorder teacher should be happy to help you learn the one-handed recorder, but it is worth checking out prior to hire.

Bike stabiliser loan scheme

Our members can choose from three types of stabilisers to borrow:

  • Balance trainers - for young children (£15 for 12 months, plus £5 p&p)
  • Standard stabilisers - for children up to six stone (£25 for 12 months, plus £5 p&p)
